Tills Bookshop, our original home for the readers of Edinburgh.
Established in 1985 by Rick and Ann Till, Tills Bookshop is one of Edinburgh's oldest surviving second-hand bookshops. Overlooking the Meadows park, our wee shop has carved out a small literary corner in Edinburgh's South Side. When Rick and Ann retired, the shop was taken over and renovated in 2019 by Kate and Joshua McNamara.
The shop is very small, but we've crammed it with a wide ranging library of beautiful books to serve the voracious readers of Edinburgh.
Open seven days a week, with a big selection of literary fiction, both contemporary and classic, quirky sci-fi, history and biography, philosophy and sociology, and the odd antiquarian gem. There are a few seats, and staff ready for all manner of bookish chats.

Tills & Company, our beautiful bookshop/coffee shop in Portobello.
Opened in 2023, Tills & Company is our bright and beautiful second-hand bookshop and cafe in the heart of Portobello, on Edinburgh's seaside.
Tills & Company offers a broad and ranging library books, along with cosy seating and two long community tables.
Our speciality coffee shop offers some of the best coffee in town, headed up by star barista Amanda Dever, alongside a range of lovely teas, sweet snacks and light bites.
We also regularly host community events, talks and crafts at the shop, so keep your eye on the calendar.
Come and sit and read and watch the bustle of Portobello High Street, or come warm up after a day on the beach.
